Brian is also the President of Brian Tracy University, a private on-line University for sales and entrepreneurship.

With credentials like that, I was very interested in what he had to say about setting and achieving goals. I recommend you log onto iLearningGlobal.tv for the full video seminar on it.

Bill outlined a very easy to follow method of setting goals and make sure you’re achieving your heart’s deepest desires.  Whatever they may be…

1) Make sure it’s YOUR goal

2) Don’t call it a “Goal”.  Call it a Promise.  Because of the way your human psychology is, you are much more likely to achieve a promise instead of a goal.  You will be much more committed to it and not have any bias towards past “goals” you never achieved.

3) Clearly identify your promise

4) Use the tools you have around you.  Identify any motivators you may have that makes you want to achieve that promise and use them as tools and reminders to get what you want.

5) Create a promise plan.  Identify the following questions in your plan: By when? Where will you be? Why do you want it? Who’s help do you need to achieve it? How? If at all possible try to identify how you are going to do it the best way that you know.

6) Review your Promises and Promise Plan on a regular basis.  A minimum of 20 minutes everyday.  If you really want something.  20 minutes is not that hard to squeeze in.

7) Tell yourself that you are going to succeed.  Positive affirmations are huge and will help infuse positive feelings as well as boost your confidence in your ability to get what you are pursuing.

Tell others about your promise.  You never know who can help you.  The more people you tell, the more people may be able to offer they’re help and expertise.  It will also increase your personal commitment level as it share it with others. I promise.

9) Envision your results.  Visualization is a big tool and all the top producers and achievers use it.

10) START!  This is by far the most crucial.  Don’t wait to get started on your dreams.  You may not know everything you need to succeed before you start but doors will be opened along the way.  Identify exactly what you want and why and get to work.  Don’t procrastinate a single day!

Hope this helps you achieve your dreams.  It’s been huge in my own personal life and I use these methods everyday. You’ll will be surprised just how fast your wants are translated into reality!

First he said that you only want to spend 20% of your time and energy identifying the problem and the remaining 80% should be spent on the SOLUTION. I love that ownership mentality! Tony then gave 5 great questions that will help all of us shift the way we look at our challenges.

5 Problem Solving Questions:

1. What’s GREAT about this? or What could be great about this?
2. What’s not perfect YET? (presupposing that it is going to be perfect)
3. What am I WILLING TO DO to make it the way that I want it?
4. What am I WILLING TO NO LONGER DO in order to make things the way that I want?
5. How can I do what is necessary to get the job done and ENJOY the process?

Now choose one of the problems that you are trying to solve and WRITE DOWN the answer to these questions.
